Notes

  1. This is a living document that we intend to constantly update.

Right now, we are listing interpreters that we have worked with so far, and interpreters who we haven't worked with yet but have been recommended by people we have worked with and/or are in the movement. We will continue to add more contacts as we build more relationships in this ongoing process.

  1. We strongly recommend you request/reach out to interpreters as soon as you know you will need them!

Some companies & folks will charge more for last minute requests, and planning for interpretation well in advance will make the process less stressful for everyone.

  1. Interpreters generally need to work with a team (often 1-2 other people) for longer assignments.

Please consider this when conducting outreach, and factoring in budget. Many interpreters can recommend additional folks/colleagues to reach out to (and sometimes will do so themselves.)

  1. We recommend you clarify the interpreters’ geographic location with them!

While this is obviously much less significant for any Zoom meetings, it’s good to have an idea of where they are from, to determine whether or not they will be able to work with you for in-person events. And it will be helpful to share this information with relevant nearby chapters :)
